Row Level Privileges in Dynamics 365
In Dynamics 365/Power Platform, access to tables(entities) can be managed at a granular level by assigning specific privileges. There are 8 different privileges in Dynamics 365
1. Create 2. Read 3. Write 4. Delete 5. Assign 6. Share 7. Append 8. Append To
Create privilege specifies whether creating new row(record) is allowed or not.
Read privilege specifies whether read/retrieval of row(record) is allowed or not.
Write privilege specifies whether writing to existing row/updating records is allowed or not.
Delete privilege specifies whether deleting rows/records is allowed or not.
Assign privilege specifies whether allowed to reassign record to other user or team.
Share privilege specifies whether allowed to share record with other users or team.
Append & AppendTo
Append & AppendTo privileges are related to lookup fields(1:N relationships)...
For example Account has a Lookup to Contact, then Contact should have Append privilege & Acoount should have AppendTo privilege.
